That last paragraph really grabs me. This may sound silly, but it's the same way with pets except on a much shorter, accelerated timeline. And, as you say, we still enter into those relationships (both the pet and human kind). I have to believe that, despite the eventual, inevitable pain and grief, having those beings in our lives provide benefits that far outweigh the knowing that the grief will come. Grief is love, what a mind-blowing discovery for me. Thank you, brother.

Absolutely true with pets…deep, unconditional, loving relationships. I lost a dog in 1989 that just did me in. What a beautiful companion he was.

Irrespective of the topic…I’m always left smiling when immersed in your writing…and a longing to travel to the places you highlight! Thank you.

Thank you, my friend for another beautiful piece of writing and touching thoughts. I was reading earlier from a book called the untethered soul. The section was on keeping one’s heart open. Coincidence?

Bom dia.

I know of that book. Opening of the heart is one of grief's finest gifts. Sometimes quickly. Sometimes slowly...

It all belongs. Who really knows what are beginnings or what are endings, right? The only endless waves….

Beautiful Steve. ❤️
